Saturday March 29th 2008 - Recap Located at : Cobo Hall (map) The 2008 DUB Show Tour has kicked off with an amazing turnout in Detroit this past Saturday! Over 15,000 attendees were treated to a non stop all star concert and some of the nation's hottest custom cars and exhibits. The show's main attraction are the one of a kind custom cars you can only find at the DUB show, and the Detroit stop was full of them - ranging from small sport compacts to over $5 Million worth of customized luxury and exotic rides! Celebrity cars on display included those from Detroit's home teams, as well as a selection from several rides from many prominent artists and entertainers. The show's sponsors went all out with huge interactive displays including Monster's expansive Lounge area where you could sample Monster beverages with celebrities such as Rick Thorne and Nick Cannon. XBOX 360's gaming station had the latest titles to demo on their HD gaming terminals. MLB Authentic Collection brought out the same highly acclaimed MLB Experience they had debuted last year, where you could test your pitching skills and play the hottest MLB video games. The U.S. Air Force also brought out their amazing flight simulators, which is the closest you can get to actually flying an F-16. Bud Light's experience featured their interactive DUB cover photography and of course the beautiful BUD Light models! Pirelli hosted many celebrity signing sessions, and the TIS & Dropstars wheels displays featured the latest wheel models on some amazing tricked out machines. Also new to the tour is D20 Wheels! From the people behind DUB Magazine, TIS and Dropstars - D20 is the latest wheel collection exclusively available through GM dealerships. The D20 display featured the first custom fitted Chevy Tahoe on 22" D20 wheels. Mid-day the main stage erupted with back to back talent that included rising local rap stars Stretch Money, Tone Tone, and Trick Trick, as well as chart toppers 2 Pistols, David Banner, and Lloyd - performing their latest hits to a wall to wall crowd at Cobo Hall. All of the concert performers spent hours with their fans signing autographs at the sponsor displays. Comedian and actor Tommy Davidson also stopped by, and actor/artist Nick Cannon had the crowd movin' with a memorable DJ set. Many thanks to those that are making the 2008 DUB shows possible. The tour is brought to you by Monster Energy, Rockstar Games' Midnight Club Los Angeles, Pirelli Tires, and is presented by BUD Light. The tour is also sponsored by MySpace, Dropstars, D20 Wheels, TIS, Pepsi, Xbox 360, MLB Authentic Collection, ClubPlanet.com, Alpine, and Alcantara. Next on schedule is Memphis, TN this coming Saturday April 12th at the Cook Convention Center from 3-9 pm. Tickets are only $15 pre-sale and $20 at the door.
